PRUKLJAN LAKE SAILING TOUR WITH VISITING MISTICAL ISLAND OF STIPANAC

Prukljan Lake is the setting of many legends inspired by the beauty and secrecy of nature. Connected to the Stipanac Island, is the folk legend of Gavan and his wife Gavanuša who demeaned a beggar by kicking him bread with her foot beneath the table, not knowing that he was an angel in disguise. For this harm, the Gavan Court, as well as Gavan and his wife, were sunk in the lake. Feel the spirit of the past admiring the still visible remains of the ancient church of Saint Stephen from the 12th century, from which the island got its name - Stipanac. During the boat ride, take a look at the depths and you will see the path at the bottom of the bay that once connected the island with the mainland (which, according to legend, was not an island at all). Look for some hidden sign of ancient life from the time of the ancient Romans in the protected area of the Prukljan Bay.

GUDUĆA ORNITHOLOGICAL RESERVE VISIT

MEET SKRADIN

Skradin is a town with narrow paved streets, passages, archways and stairs where the entire old town centre is a protected cultural monument. We will take you on a unique walk through the ancient Skradin, a romantic town where the Krka River dips into the Adriatic Sea. The tour starts at the Mala Gospa Square, named after the Church of Blessed Virgin Mary, or as locals call it, Mala Gospa, built in the late-baroque style. What is interesting about Skradin is its kampanel (church bell tower), which was raised on the closest cliff because of its weight. Built in 1872 by the former Skradin bishop, Antun Stjepan Trevisan, the tower is considered a symbol of this city. To make an impressive memory and take in one of the area’s most beautiful views, we will walk together to the medieval fort of Pavao Šubić Bribirski or Turin, built on the site of the old Liburnian fortress.

MAY PROCESSION WEEK ON MURTER

Two Christian holidays are celebrated at the beginning of May in Jezera on the island of Murter. The celebration of Saint Constant takes place on the nearby Kružak hill in the church of Saint Constant, which was built as a votive church for the patron against malaria. The inhabitants of Jezera who had been suffering from malaria since 1780 built the church. In the bay of Saint Nicholas, the first Sunday of May is marks the celebration of the dedication of the Saint Nicholas church, the oldest church on the island of Murter, dating back to the 15th century. On this day, the people of Jezera sail on tasselled boats carrying the statue of St. Nicholas from the Jezera bay to the Saint Nicolas bay, where a ceremonial mass is held followed by a special programme. Join the numerous pilgrims in search of peace in these processions, replenishing their souls, enjoying cultural content, folklore performances and various handicrafts displays.

WINE ROADS OF PRIMOŠTEN

Babić is an indigenous Croatian type of grapevine that makes up 99% of the Primošten are vineyards, growing grapes to make the famous Croatian wine, Babić. At the first mention of Babić, wine lovers mostly recall the images of the stone Primošten lace from the location of Bucavac, often seen in various adverts. This image perfectly contours the conditions needed to cultivate this demanding sort of vine, to produce the majestic wine Babić. The Bucavac vineyard is the most famous place for Babić rearing. The picture of this vineyard is exhibited in the building of the United Nations as an ode to human labour. The Marinov winery in Vezac village will show you the way grapes are processed into wine, the process of production and preservation of the Babić wine. VIA DINARICA - TO THE TOP OF CROATIA

Mountain and nature lovers, you will identify with this adventure and the amazing experience of the beautiful Dinara, Croatia’s highest mountain and one of the most picturesque mountains of Dalmatia. The Dinaric massif, 20 kilometres long and 10 kilometres wide, rises above the town of Knin, letting beneath its impressive slopes the springs of the Krka River, Krčić and Cetina. Our journey will begin in the village of Mirkovići, from where we will continue toward the Brezovac mountain lodge, walking a total of six hours with several breaks, to finally reach Croatia’s highest peak - Sinjal at 1.831 metres. Climbing the top of Croatia and the top of Dinara, we will be pass flower meadows and forests, we may even encounter snow that sometimes keeps on the mountain peaks to the beginning of summer, even though the sea is a mere 50 kilometres away. TOUCH OF HISTORY OF THE SKRADIN REGION

At first, the peaceful shores of Skradin city will not reveal the secret of its culture, which stretches over 2000 years, and concealed just like the strategically positioned city, with its fertile fields, its river and sea depths and oddly beautiful landscapes. This harmony is mirrored in Skradin’s Medieval City Statute from the 14th century, during the rule of the famous Pavao Šubić, when Skradin was the capital of Croatia and Bosnia. Further back, in the 4th century, Skradin was the home of early Christian bishops. Even earlier, it was the capital city of the Roman province of Liburnia, and before that capital city of Liburnia. We came up with a cycling tour that leads from Skradin towards the Bićane village across Prukljana to Sonković village. On the route, you will get the opportunity to see the wealth of historic remains, forts, churches as well as to taste authentic foods and wines. CYCLING THROUGH ANCIENT TIMES

Archaeological sites are always interesting to visit and inspect. Even though they are sometimes made up of barely recognisable remains, it seems as though a spirit from the past speaks through them and we are at once closer to hearing the sounds of a life that used to be. Cycle with us to Danilo, the village under which lay the remains of the Roman settlement Rider. Our cycling tour leaves from Skradin towards Bukići and Gradina, and continues across Škaljevice towards Danilo Gornji, one of the most significant archaeological sites in Croatia. There is a complex of a Roman villa, while the Gradina site features remains of dwellings and a fortification system dating back to prehistory and up to the Middle Ages. Danilo culture is associated with the riton – a decorated bowl with four legs with a large handle used in rites, while the whole Neolithic cultural circle is called Danilo culture. BIG GAME FISHING

The setting – the sea. The time – March, April. Tuna hunt. In these months, tuna fish are smaller and move in herd so a lot of effort is required for a fish to bite the hook. The duration of the trip is three to five days. Sounds difficult? Big game fishing is all about teamwork. Big game fishing is unpredictable. You have to arm yourself with patience to the very end, and be prepared to act quickly. The final result will depend on the entire team. We will make sure your experience is exciting and comfortable, tiring and relaxing, tense and unforgettable. Every day from 9 am to 4 pm, with your smaller team of 3 to 4 people, you will fish on a boat with a skipper and all the necessary fishing gear. TRADITIONAL SAILING

The wooden boat glides quietly on the surface of the sea while the sails easily bloat. The wind wants steal and guide it away, toward the open sea. In this effort, it cools and refreshes hot foreheads. Only a few sounds of wood and rope that creak in tension. We are in awe of the ease with which just a few pairs of hands keep everything in check, taming this beautiful sail. Master traditional sailing techniques on a traditional wooden boat. Familiarize yourself with the importance of a wooden boat for the islands and take part in one of the regattas on Latin sails. First, we will acquaint ourselves with a traditional boat, followed by the theoretical part of gaining an insight into the importance and history of a wooden sailboat on the islands and visiting the Betina Museum of Wooden Shipbuilding. The next two days are reserved for a sailing course on a wooden boat in the Murter Aquarium. The last day will be spiced up by our participation in one of the regattas on Latin sails.

3-DAY ACTIVE TOUR

Vodice is a tourist destination known for its vibrancy and appeal, diverse tourist offer and friendly hosts. It is located in a large bay, 11 km northwest from the town of Šibenik, the centre of the Šibenik-Knin County.

Day 1 - The group usually gathers around mid-day, which leaves plenty of time to find and adjust a bicycle for you and then take you on a ride through Vodice. Accommodation: private guesthouse in Vodice; Meal: dinner at the restaurant Karmelski Dvori located at the foot of Okit hill.

Day 2 - Kayaking to the island of Prvić The island of Prvić is beautiful and serene. Its streets are narrow, curvy and steep. Its stone houses will surely capture your attention with their specific details, while telling the same story. Karst, rocks, unique tracks. The island with its two settlements, Šepurine and Prvić Luka, was first mentioned in the 11th century. It was more substantially inhabited by people from Srima and Vodice fleeing the Turks. In the 16th century, the island became a fashionable resort for the Šibenik nobility, where they built their villas and summer residences. The famous Šibenik family Vrančić was no exception. Join us on an enjoyable bicycle ride through Prvić Šepurine and Prvić Luka where you can feel the island spirit or, for those who are a little more prepared/agile, the challenge of singletracks and wild rides between fields and houses! At the end of our tour, we will enjoy a delicious lunch at the restaurant Bare in Prvić Šepurine.

Day 3 - Vodice-Vodice Welcome to the track that will take you through the Vodice hinterland, where the first settlements were founded already in prehistoric times. On this track we will have the chance to see the Church of St. Elias the Prophet, an old Roman cistern, the Church of St. John, old Roman wells, the prehistoric settlement of Aruzona, the archaeological site Velika Mrdakovica. At the end of our tour, we will enjoy a savoury lunch at the restaurant “Roca – The House of Dalmatian Prosciutto“.

Day 4 - Trekking - island of Žirje Feel the adrenaline, forget your laziness. What is the simplest way to do healthy exercise and sightseeing? Trekking is the answer. Žirje is an island and a settlement in the Croatian part of the Adriatic Sea. It is located in the Šibenik archipelago, approximately 22 km southwest from Šibenik, which makes it the furthest permanently settled island in the Šibenik archipelago.

CORAL ISLANDS – ZLARIN AND KRAPANJ

The islands of Krapanj and Zlarin are a part of the Šibenik Riviera and are certainly one of the most beautiful small inhabited islands in Croatia. The island of Krapanj is known as being the lowest island on the Mediterranean (only 1.5 m above sea level). It is also known for its traditional sponge harvesting and processing. The island is also home to St. Cross Monastery, where you can visit a small museum of sponges, corals, amphorae and antique dishes. The island of Zlarin, located in the immediate vicinity of the island of Krapanj, is known for its rich Mediterranean vegetation (Aleppo pine, figs, cherries, wild raspberries...) and the longest island waterfront in Croatia (101,5 m). On the island of Zlarin you can also see a demonstration of traditional coral (sea plant) jewellery manufacturing, but what you will remember the most is, above all, the charm that this island boasts.

BIKE AND WINE

Dalmatian soil is mostly made of rock with little soil on top of it. But that little piece of soil is the essence of life which rewards hardworking people that cultivate it. Red Dalmatian soil, being first cleaned of stones which are then arranged into walls without binding material (called „suhozid“ meaning drywall), is incredibly fertile when irrigated and that is why Dalmatia is known for its olive grove and vineyards. Virgin olive oil, figs, grapes and wine are our most important and valued products and drywalls, creating both shelter for plants and incredible patterns in nature, are on UNESCO's list of the intangible good of humanity. Morinje bay is placed right behind of Šibenik's suburb so we ride on small field roads among olives, vineyards and small gardens. Morinje bay has always played an important role in agriculture of local population because of its brackish waters and underground sources of fresh water. It is a fruitful valley that has been cultivated even before The Roman Empire. The small climb will get us to vineyards situated on hill tops over Jadrtovac village.During the wine tasting you will be introduced to the long history of the wine making in this area and you will have a chance to taste the best wines of local variaties that has been internationally recognized and awarded. From vineyard we countinue to small village of Brodarica. On our way there we will cross Morinje bridge with magnificient view on Island of Krapanj. In Brodarica village we stop for refreshment and swimm (depending on weather conditions) and after the break we ride on the road next to the coast. On our way to Zablaće village we will also ride through the Amadria Park hotel resort which also makes an interesting ride. After Zablaće, the road leads us to St. Anthony channel with St. Nicolas fortress at its sea entrance. This monumental fortification has been built on small islet to prevent any possible attacks of The Otoman Empire from the sea on city of Šibenik and has recently been placed under the protection of UNESCO. It also served as film set for popular serial Game of Thrones that has been filmed in Šibenik as well as on some other locations in Croatia. After the brief visit we ride on nice winding path along the channel and under the pine trees to our next stop, U-shaped sea tunnel, built by axis forces during WW II for patrol boats which are localy known as „Hitler's eyes“ becasuse of its two entrances overlooking the channel. The atmosphere inside the tunnel resembles the atmosphere from James Bond movies. From 007 we take you to exploration in Indiana Jones style - this time it's a small hidden cave chappel used by hermits in The Middle Ages. After this adventerous break we climb two panoramic hills whit fantastic views on city of Šibenik, it's surrounding, channel and archipelago with numerous islands on the horizon. This is a must-photo-stop. At our final stage of the tour we ride on the opposite side of Šibenik bay and back to the city.

BIKE AND BOAT- ISLAND HOPPING

This unique tour is the ideal merge of modern and traditional attractions. It begins at the most beautiful and exciting sea channel on the Adriatic Sea - St. Anthony channel. This sea passage has always had special strategic role in controlling sea traffic in and out of Šibenik harbour so it was often referred to as "The defender of Šibenik". We will climb to panoramic hill top where we will enjoy unique view of the city of Šibenik and its surroundings together with numerous islands in the archipelago and get the real sense of where we are in time and place in the Šibenik region. This is the ideal photo opportunity for capturing me-mories and taking them back home. We are also going to discover the so called ˝Hitler’s eyes˝- a military sea tunnel from World War II. This is the place where fantasy is born as it is very similar to the James Bond movie set. From 007 we take you to nearby exploration in Indiana Jones style to the small cave chapel located in a vicinity which was used by hermits in middle ages.We continue on fairy tale winding path along the channel and its small bays and beaches under the shaddow of the pine trees to get to the St. Nicholas fortress for brief visit. This fortification is placed on an islet at the channel entrance from the sea side and was built in the 16th century for the defense from the Ottoman Empire. Now it is under the UNESCO protection and was recently used as a set for the famous and very popular Game of Thrones. Then we will board the boat, your private yacht and time machine BIKE AND BOAT- ISLAND HOPPING 105 for that day, as the island Prvić is small and still not overcrowded with tourists so it gives a taste of true, nowdays mostly lost, Dalmatian way of life. This nostalgic feeling is emphasized by the fact that cars are not allowed on the island and all of traffic is done by old, squeaky tractors. We will explore the island and its picturesque villages by bikes and refresh ourselves in some of the hidden bays enjoying privacy. The visit to a center dedicated to an inventer of parachute, Faust Vrančić, is also possible.After island Prvic we hop to Zlarin, the nearby island also known as the ˝Island of Corals˝. Zlarin is a miraculously peaceful, silent and a very green island whose inhabitants were known for their skill to find and extract sea corals using boats specific for that region, "latinsko idro" (Latin Sail) which can still be seen in their small har-bour. After a ride through this old place and refreshment provided by the crystal clear sea, we will have lunch in a very intimate atmosphere at the restaurant serving only the best homemade local meat and sea food. After an exciting day your stomach will know how to thank you for such delicacies. After dinner you can relax on fly deck of the yacht with glass of wine from one of the Šibenik's best vinaries - Testament. All sweet water, fruits and wine are included in price so do not worrie about dehidratation. We sail back to St. Nicolas fortress and finish our trip through the channel of St. Anhony with spectacular entrance into the port of Šibenik.
